A TRAVEL whizz has revealed a handy hotel trick which allows you to 'hack' the thermostat when your room is hot and stuffy.

TikTok user The Points Guys shared the tip with their 666,000 followers on their social media account.

"Sometimes you check into a hotel room and it's stuffy and your thermostat won't go low enough because of the hotel configured settings," the travel guru said.

"Well I'm going to teach you a little trick to override your thermostat."

The influencer then demonstrates the nifty tip to followers on the widely used INNCOM thermostat.

He continues: "Formerly named the 'VIP' setting, 'LEN' mode will allow you to set your thermostat to any temperature you want.

"First hold down the display button, then the off button and then the up temperature button.

"The screen should read 'LEN'.

"And then you can make it as cold as you want. Enjoy!"

For travellers who encounter a colder room, follow the same advice but instead increase the temperature.

Impressed viewers flocked to pay tribute to the content creator's handy trick.

One user said: "As a flight attendant this is priceless information."

"Can confirm this works, used it a few weeks ago in Vegas," a second weighed in.

A third user chimed in: "YOU HAVE CHANGED MY LIFE! I travel for a living, and this is such a pet peeve of mine.

"I cannot thank you enough for sharing this!"

It comes after one travel expert lifted the lid on why you should never use the hotel iron in your room - and the reason will shock you.
